The Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global) is pleased to announce 33 successful HER Voice Fund applicants from Cameroon, Mozambique,Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The fund is an initiative of the Global Fund supported by ViiV Healthcare Positive Action to ensure young women and girls have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their health and lives.

“The number of applications which we received when we launched the first request for proposal (RFP) proved that the HER Voice Fund is very much needed. We received 530 applications from the 6 countries. After shortlisting, 369 applications qualified for the Project Advisory Group (PAG) review and 33 applications were selected.” – Maximina Jokonya, HER Voice Fund Coordinator.

The successful organizations will be receiving small grants between 4,000 – 9,000 Euros.

“Congratulations to the grantees, this is a huge milestone towards the implementation of activities targeting AGYW. We look forward to the great advocacy and impact towards ending the epidemics among AGYW.”– Tambudzai Magwenzi, HER Voice Fund Ambassador and member of the Project Advisory Group.

It is important to note that the aim of the HER Voice Fund is to support the meaningful engagement of adolescent girls and young women in relevant Global Fund and other national, provincial and district level processes in order to contribute more directly to the decisions that affect their lives.

The successful organizations will work towards:

  • Gathering information and stories for AGYW advocacy

  • AGYW engagement in policy and advocacy
  • Monitoring and accountability

Applications for the second request for proposals (RFP) are being reviewed. The third and last RFP will be launched in August 2020.
