Daren Paul is a registered Nurse and Midwife in the Philippines. He finished his Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH) at Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. At present, he is working with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines – Episcopal Commission on Health Care (CBCP-ECHC), a faith-based organization that works with 86 catholic dioceses in the Philippines and other bishops’ conferences all over the world. The commission works to promote the fullness of life for all and pastoral health care for the handicapped, elderly, oppressed, sick and dying. He is the nurse-program coordinator in one of the ministries of the commission, which is the Woodwater Center for Healing, a one-stop counseling center that caters to LGBTIQ including people living with HIV, providing medical and psychosocial support.
He joined Y+ Board of Directors last August 2018, representing the Asia and Pacific. He is also a member of different technical working groups on HIV programming in the Philippines.
He is also involved in different local and international organizations such as Catholic Asia Pacific Coalition on HIV and AIDS (CAPCHA), Caritas Internationalis, Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC), Youth Voices Count, Being LGBTI in Asia – a UNDP Initiative and Dutch Alumni Network – nl4talents Nuffic.
