Mission and vision

Our mission and vision guide the way that we work here at Y+ and give us a clear focus.

To provide leadership and empowerment to young people living with HIV (YPLHIV) globally, ensuring they are meaningfully engaged and included in political and programmatic spaces that impact their lives.

A world free of stigma, where the needs and rights of young people with HIV are recognised.

  1. Collect and share information and data regarding problems and challenges of adolescents and young people living with HIV to inform and influence policies and programs on young people and adolescents living with HIV.
  2. Increase treatment access for adolescents and young people living with HIV, including through expanding treatment literacy, disclosure and adherence support, the broader access to essential medicines movement, removing barriers to treatment access, and participation in treatment related decision-making.
  3. Advocate for policies and laws that promote young people’s health rights, especially adolescents and young people living with HIV and key populations, including access to sexual and reproductive health services, and information, education, treatment and welfare.
  4. Develop Y+ institutional capacities and strengthen YPLHIV’s leadership from community to global level, including establishing programmes, mobilising resources, and supporting the networks of young people living with HIV at regional and country level to build strong partnerships.
